It’s interesting how the holiday shopping season works. Once Thanksgiving ends, it’s like a free-for-all for businesses to get their specials out there. Black Friday and Cyber Monday hits, and it’s a free-for-all for customers to get out there and get the best deals.
Once the dust settles, businesses spend the next week recovering from the madness, restocking their shelves and putting things back in place for the rest of the holiday shopping season.
But what should businesses do with their digital marketing plans once Black Friday and Cyber Monday are finished? You’ve spent all this time creating these great deals and marketing plans for these two colossal shopping days, but now it’s over. Should you then just kind of put things in cruise control for the rest of the holiday shopping season?
If anything, you should gear up your digital marketing plan even more. Black Friday and Cyber Monday still have their spots at the top of the food chain when it comes to shopping seasons, but more and more people are starting to wait it out and hit up the shopping season after the Black Friday madness has cleared.
You’re also starting to see more businesses offer their Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals later into the shopping season. Take for example, Amazon. If you jump on their site right now, you will find a tab for CYBER MONDAY Deals week. Yes, they are offering Cyber Monday deals all week long.
If retails stores and online stores are generating great revenue from Black Friday and Cyber Monday, then why wouldn’t they continue to offer their deals further into the shopping season. Retail stores want to see empty shelves within their stores, and they know the right way to get there is to offer great deals.
So just because Black Friday and Cyber Monday are behind us doesn’t mean it’s time to kick your feet up and pat yourself on the back for another positive season, because the holiday season isn’t over. It’s actually just getting started. So regroup, rethink your plan for the rest of the month and get your deals out there for those last-minute shoppers to see!
