The Best Website Design For More Sales
Don’t Waste your online advertising dollars
Getting people to your website is the first step but what if the people that come to your website don’t do what you want them to do?
What if they don’t contact you?
What if they don’t buy anything?
What if they don’t sign up for your newsletter?
If they don’t do what you want them to do, you will have wasted a lot of money in online advertising getting them to your website
Website design and development is a critical component of getting your website visitors to become your customer and our team at 3Sixty understands how to make this happen.
We’ll walk you through our website design and development process that has produced proven results for our clients for nearly twenty years.
Responsive Website Design
It’s no secret that having a website design that works on mobile devices is important. In the last quarter of 2020 over 50% of web traffic in the U.S. originated from a mobile device.
The method that you use for your website design and website development, when it comes to mobile, will have an impact on everything from the cost of maintenance for your site to now well your site ranks in the search engines.
We use a responsive design on all of our website design and web development projects for a number of reasons:
- Responsive design is the mobile-friendly method that Google has said offers the best user experience and because user experience is now a ranking signal, using responsive design just mates sense.
- Responsive design doesn’t need to be updated with every new phone or tablet that comes to the market. This means that the next time Apple or Samsung release a new phone, you won’t have to get your website updated to display properly on the new devices.
Website Design For Your Online Marketing
Website at the center of online marketing
Your website is the one place that you can tell your story the way that you want it told. You get to tell people about your company, your people, your products, and your services.
All of your online marketing should be driving people to your website as opposed to places like your social media accounts.
Because your site must be at the center of your online marketing universe, your site's design must reflect the information that people are coming to find. The design of your website will impact the navigation that people use to find information, it will determine how long people say on a page to engage in the information, and your website's design will drive people to multiple pages of your site.

STEPS TO WEBSITE DESIGN SUCCESS
Strategy & Conceptualization
Understanding what to build and why it needs to be built is the first step in our being able to create a web design that will bring value to your company and your website users, alike.
The deliverables within this phase of the project will include a project kick-off meeting, sitemap and a content inventory.
Web Design
This is where the planning begins to take shape. The design of your new website has to properly reflect your brand and it has to create an environment that will make the people coming to your website feel that they are represented. If they don’t see themselves in your web design, they won’t engage with the information that you have on your website.
The deliverables within this phase of the project will include three design comps with up to two revisions, along with photography options.
Web Development
The web development portion of your website project is one of the most under-rated components to a new website design. How your new website gets built will have implications on everything from where your website ranks on the search engines to how many people that visit your website convert into an engaged visitor and ultimately into a new customer.
Don’t leave your website development up to anything less than a professional. There’s just too much at risk.
Our web development deliverables can include content creation, relevant imagery, code written to W3C standards, form creation, and much more.
COMMON WEB DESIGN QUESTIONS
Generally speaking, if you’re not getting the results from your website (i.e. sales leads, sales, volunteers, donors, etc) then it’s time to evaluate if your website is the problem.
It’s important to note that if you’re not getting the results that you expect from your site, a new website design is not the immediate answer. There are a number of other issues that your company could be facing that are the cause of the poor performance that you’re experiencing.
- Goal: Step 1 is to decide what your goal is for your website. Do you want to increase leads? Do you want to increase sales? Or, are you trying to increase the visibility of your brand. By identifying the goals that you have for your site, the way that your website is designed will then align with your goals.
- Audience: Identify who you want to attract to your website. If you're like most of our clients you will have a couple of different segments of customers. They may be in different geographies, they may use different products or services, or they may be in different industries. No matter how you segment your customers, each segment will expect to see themselves in your website. How you accomplish this takes planning.
- Conversions: Once people arrive at your site, what mechanisms will you have to get them to convert? A conversion is getting the visitor to take the next step in the decision process. On a website, a conversion could be the amount of time that a visitor invests in reading a page, or a conversion could be downloading an educational paper. Regardless what conversion tactics you want to use on your website, you need to have a plan for it.
The length of time that it takes to design and develop a new website depends on a number of factors. How much content will need to be created, the scope of what the website is expected to do, and if there are any back-end integrations (i.e. possibly a CRM, accounting platform, etc) that need to be created along with a number of other factors will all impact the timeline.
To offer a little insight on the timeline for a new website design project, for a typical website that is used for a businesses marketing efforts, will generally run about 3 months.
There is, however, a website design and development methodology that is also available that could get a new web design and development effort launched within about 45 days. This is an agile web design methodology that a number of our clients have been enjoying. To learn more about the options, just reach out to us and we can discuss what would work best for your situation.
There are a number of factors, when it comes to web design, that will impact a company’s sales. A top performing web design will accomplish two primary objectives. First, a top performing web design will reflect your company’s brand in color, images, and content. The look and feel of a top performing web design will reflect the image your brand is trying to represent.
Secondly, a top producing web design will also reflect the image of the people that you are trying to attract to your website. As an example, let’s say that your company sells running shoes. A top producing web design will reflect very health conscious and athletic imagery along with content. When someone looking for running shoes lands on your site, they will feel like they are in the right place.
Absolutely! We develop the vast majority of websites on the WordPress platform. WordPress is the #1 website design platform on the internet and comes complete with a content management system. This will give you complete access to your website and will allow you to change images, content, navigation structure, and add or delete pages.
