What Is The Better Digital Marketing Strategy?

I’ve seldom stumble across articles that attempt to tackle the debate of what’s more important between mobile ads and mobile apps. Some people obviously feel one way, while others feel the other.

So in order to settle this debate, it’s best to discuss the advantages of both.

Let’s start with mobile ads. The sole purpose of the mobile ads is to drive traffic. It’s that simple. You want people to see your ads and click on them. It drives traffic to your site, and it drives the RIGHT traffic. And best of all, you only have to pay for clicks. So if you create some mobile ads that don’t exactly get the job done, no worries. It won’t cost much or anything at all.

And believe it or not, ads that don’t get clicked on can create brand awareness. Yea, seems strange, right? But just because someone doesn’t click on your ads doesn’t mean they didn’t see your ads. By just noticing your ads, it’s putting your brand in the minds of that person.

So to summarize the advantages of mobile ads: they draw the right traffic, are cost effective and can drive brand awareness.

Now let’s move on to mobile apps.

Mobile apps have steadily increased over the past 5 years, and it’s for good reason. Ecommerce is huge these days, and mobile apps play right into it. Consumers are looking for an experience now days. It’s not a simple here’s what we have, now but it scheme.

Instead, people want to interact with your brand and leave with an experience they will remember. That’s exactly what mobile apps can do. They interact with the user, giving them tips, secrets, advice, etc. It’s not necessarily about making a sale, but creating loyal customers. And loyal customers, in its own little way, tends to lead to better sales.

So now that we’ve seen what the two can offer, it’s time to settle the debate. Are you ready for the clear cut answer on which is the way to go? Well here it is…there is no better way to go. Sorry, but that’s the truth.

It just depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If your site is drawing low or bad traffic, then mobile ads are the probably a good solution. If you have little or no followers on social media or starting a brand awareness campaign, then a mobile app might be the best route. What do you think is the better strategy?
